I came across the image of the singer PJ Harvey by the photographer & film maker Maria Mochnacz while researching the style Grunge. I love the way that she experiments with photographs of PJ Harvey using photo manipulation by: distressing, staining, bleaching and then the photographs were put through the washing machine.
also enjoy that she experiments with mark making with how she uses splashes of bleach. I like the way that the colours have been faded and the how the green colour stands out.
I also find the detailing on PJ Harvey's floral dress interesting. This is something I have tried experimenting with in my own photography by editing the colours to look worn & old.
